Did Westerfield go too far?




What did you think of the fourth book, "Extras"? Should the author have stopped with a trilogy?

YES! The other 3 were different; a new look at the 1984 concept. This one felt like she HAD to bring Youngblood back. I think it would have been more interesting if she had branched off and formed a different cluture with different norms. Still a good read.

It DID seem like the author was just trying to write a fourth book. I think "Extras" would have been better as a stand-alone story, rather than as part of the Uglies Trilogy. But, then again, it was all along the same idea of a new society, so....

"Extras" was a great title for a book that was just a bunch of the "extra *cough*leftover*cough* ideas she had in her head. Congrats on selling out.
